FAQ about an energy healing treatment

Q. What is universal life energy?

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. Universal life energy is all around us. It is the source of energy from which all living things come from.

 

Q. How is this used during a treatment?

Universal life energy is channelled and passed on through the practitioner's hands which brings healing to wherever it is needed. When this energy flows uninterrupted we become open and balanced and at peace with ourselves and the world around us.

 

Q. What happens during a Reiki treatment?

The first session will include a short consultation. Reiki treatments are given to clients as they lie on a treatment bed. The practitioner will work though a series of non intrusive hand positions, with the hand being placed gently and lightly on the body. Reiki is given over clothing and the practitioner's hands can be held above the body if the client prefers. The treatment will last about an hour. During this time the client will probably feel deep relaxation, calm and a sense of peace. Reiki can bring emotional issues to the surface for healing. 

 

Depending on the client and the issues raised, I may also use crystals, angle cards, sound and body work. This would be discussed and agreed on, for the highest good of the client.

 

Reiki can also be given as a distant healing if the client and practitioner cannot be in the same space.

​Q. What is absent healing?

Absent healing is also known as distant healing. An absent Reiki treatment is as effective as a treatment in person. Energy can be directed anywhere. Reiki knows no boundaries or barriers. Many Reiki practitioners will work on a doll or teddy bear, working through the same positions as if the client was with them.

The client can stay in the comfort of their own home. A time will be allocated for the healing and it's advised that the client spends the hour meditating, sleeping or gently 'being' at home.

​Q. Is Reiki for me?

Reiki is for everyone. Everyone is entitled to live in their truth, pain free and at peace with themselves in this moment.

I also offer treatments to children, who may be unsettled in pain.

Q. Can anyone give you Reiki?

No. Reiki can only be practised by someone who has been attuned and properly trained.

 

Q. Do I have to believe in Reiki to benefit from it?

Reiki is not a religion and there is no belief system attached to it. Reiki is a safe natural therapy bringing you toward healthy mind, body and spirit.  

 

Q. Is Reiki a miracle cure?

No. Reiki will assist the body in healing itself. Some conditions will improve very quickly and others may take longer. A Reiki practitioner will not diagnose. Reiki is a highly powerful, yet gentle complementary therapy and support to other medical treatments.

Q. What is a Reiki Attunement?

If you are interested in working with Reiki energy, you need to be attuned by a Reiki Master Teacher. Reiki 1 is for self healing. It is believed that everyone should be able to self heal. Reiki 2 is practitioner level. You can then go on to become a Reiki Master Teacher.
